May 16 – Arrival in Lhasa

Begin your journey at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or the train station, surrounded by majestic mountain views. Acquaint yourself with Lhasa at 3,650 meters/12,000 ft above sea level, taking two days to acclimatize before heading to Mount Kailash.

May 17 – Lhasa City Tour: Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple (Walking Tour)

Explore the iconic Potala Palace, steeped in Dalai Lama history, and visit the Jokhang Temple, showcasing the Jowo Shakyamuni Statue. Wander Bakhor Street, immersing yourself in the vibrant local culture.

May 18 – Lhasa City Tour: Drepung and Sera Monasteries

Delve into Tibetan spirituality at Drepung Monastery, once the world's largest, and witness the monks' debates at Sera Monastery, a unique learning experience.

May 19 – Driving to Shigatse: Yamdrok Lake and Glaciers

Embark on the sacred trek around Kailash, tracing the Saga Dawa Festival celebration area. Reach Dira Puk Monastery for an awe-inspiring view of the north face of Mount Kailash.

May 24 – Trek, 2nd day (22 km/13.6 miles)

Ascend Dolma La Pass at 5,630 meters/18,600 ft, adorned with prayer flags. Stay overnight at Zutiulpuk Monastery, surrounded by the majestic mountains.

May 25 – Trek 3rd Day (14 km/8.7 miles)

Enjoy a picturesque walk through a gorgeous valley, catching glimpses of the east side of Mt. Kailash. Stay overnight in Darchen with an optional hot shower for an additional fee.

May 26 – Darchen to Lake Manasarovar

Relax by the holy Lake Manasarovar, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Visit Chiu Monastery and stay overnight in dormitory rooms.

May 27 – Driving from Manasarovar to Saga

Capture scenic views on the drive from Manasarovar to Saga, staying overnight at a hotel.

May 28 – Saga to Shigatse

Return to Shigatse, making a stop at Langtso Lake. Overnight stay in a Shigatse hotel.

May 29 – Shigatse to Lhasa

Visit Tashilumpo Monastery in the morning, taking the Friendship Highway back to Lhasa. Enjoy stops along the Brahmaputra River for breathtaking views.

May 30 – Departure From Lhasa

The 2020 Saga Dawa Festival , also known as the Buddha Auspicious Day (May 23 to June 21 of this year's Gregorian calendar) is a traditional festival of Tibetan Buddhism, which is called the Saga Dawa Festival in Tibetan.  The believers of the southern Buddhist countries are also known as Vesak Day, which means full moon and sun. Tibet Travel Permit is the official document which permits the foreign traveler to enter and travel in Tibet. It is the secondary travel document to travel in Tibet besides the China Visa. Among several Tibet permits, Tibet Travel Permit (Tibet Entry Permit) is foremost and compulsory for foreign passport holders to enter Tibet. The Permit is issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau and it is the so-called Tibet Tourism Bureau Permit or TTB Permit . With this permit, foreigners can visit Lhasa , Shigatse, Everest, Mt Kailash, and so on. Tibet Travel Permit is also needed to take a train or flight to and off Tibet. You must contact the Tibetan Travel Agency based in Lhasa to process the Tibet Travel Permit before starting your Tibet tour .
